Car Stereos & Head Units

An in-dash car stereo (also referred to as a head unit) is the central component to your car’s audio and video systems. They are what translates your music from a device (iPhone, Streaming Audio, etc) or component (CD, DVD) into the music and video that you see via a user friendly interface on your dash. There are a variety of types of car stereos with tons of options for features. Some of the most common types of stereos include: GPS Navigation, DVD/Multimedia, CD, Digital Media Receivers and AppRadio. Their purpose differs, for example a DVD/Multimedia stereo might not always have GPS Navigation.

Most head units and stereos today come with things like smartphone compatibility, Bluetooth, HD radio, but not all come with the combination of features that you may want.
